We hope you will be! TriangleGivesBack.org is our region’s social networking community connecting individuals interested in making a difference with nonprofit organizations working to improve life in North Carolina’s Triangle region.

Triangle Community Foundation manages this initiative, which is supported by a diverse steering committee and group of advisors from the nonprofit, philanthropic, corporate, education, religious and communication sectors.

What is Triangle Community Foundation's role in Triangle Gives Back?

As a community leader, Triangle Community Foundation (TCF) assembled a diverse coalition of people interested in giving in the Triangle. This coalition created Triangle Gives Back, which is funded and staffed by TCF.

Can my organization receive funding from Triangle Gives Back?

Can my organization receive funding from Triangle Gives Back? Triangle Gives Back does not provide funding for nonprofit organizations. However, at TriangleGivesBack.org nonprofit organizations can:

  • Tell their stories
  • Share opportunities for individuals and businesses to get involved.
  • Connect with new advocates, donors, and volunteers

Why should I get involved?

The Triangle needs you.

We know that many of you give your time, talent and treasure to people, causes and organizations you care about. But, we also know that some of you are still looking for more ways to learn, connect and give. You want to be part of something bigger.

On the other side, those of you who lead organizations working to make a difference in our communities need passionate individuals to get involved and help achieve your goals. You are constantly looking for ways to engage new people in the work you do.

TriangleGivesBack.org is the place where individuals and organizations connect, share information and inspire each other.

How do I get involved as an individual?

Join the online TGB community by creating a personal profile. Connect with nonprofit organizations working in your areas of interest. Share information about how and where you’re giving back in the Triangle. Invite your friends to join. Give.

How do I get involved as an organization?

Join the online TGB community Update it regularly. Invite your members and supporters to create individual profiles and follow your organization.

Nonprofit organizations based in and serving Chatham, Durham, Orange or Wake counties are eligible to create organizational profiles.

How can my business get involved?

Join businesses throughout our region in the Triangle Gives Back 1% Giving Challenge.

About Giving

How can I give money to make a difference in the Triangle?

Nonprofit organizations, coalitions, congregations and governments all work to improve the lives of Triangle residents and address critical issues. Financial gifts from individuals, families and businesses support the work of these groups.

Organizations receive monetary gifts differently. Some take donations through the mail. Some accept online gifts.

Contact the organization you are interested in supporting and learn how they can best receive your financial support and immediately put it to use.

How can I give my time and talent to make a difference in the Triangle?

Organizations in the Triangle often rely on volunteers for both one-time projects and ongoing needs.

Visit the Resources section to learn more about several organizations in our region that help volunteers match their skills and interests with nonprofits in our community that are ready to put that time and talent to use.

You can also directly contact the organization you're interested in supporting to learn more about the volunteer opportunities they have available.

How can I learn more about a nonprofit organization's financial status?

As tax-exempt organizations, most nonprofits are required to file financial information with the Internal Revenue Service. This information is readily available for many organizations through Guidestar.
