Our Mission
The Triangle consistently ranks as one of the best places in the United State to live, work, and play. But how do we compare to other regions when it comes to philanthropy? Do we consider charitable giving important? What does it mean to use individually? As a whole, are we giving enough to our communities? And most importantly, are we meeting real needs and taking advantage of available opportunities?
As a Triangle Community Foundation initiative Triangle Gives Back engages our community in answering these questions and finds ways each of us can make a difference with our giving.
How do we do it?
Using research, tools, and connection, we are working to:
- Raise awareness about the current status of giving in the Triangle
- Make giving fun, easy, and strategic
- Increase participation in giving - in all of its forms
Research
The findings outlined in How the Triangle Gives Back: A Report to the Region begin to tell the story of giving in our community. From this report authored by the Program on Public Life at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an analysis of giving by type, sector and geography provides the basis for Triangle Gives Back's actions and recommendations.
Tools
As a local, social networking community, TriangleGivesBack.org is a tool connecting people interested in making a difference with nonprofit organizations that need volunteers, donors, and advocates in order to make the Triangle a better place for all who live here.
Connection
Giving is a social process. We all find out about causes that need our help and opportunities to get involved through other people. TriangleGivesBack.org is THE place to make those connections!
