Barnes & Noble Helping Others Give Back
This holiday season Barnes & Noble is joining with Durham's Partnership for Children to help our community give back to kids! Learn more about how you can be involved in the 2009 Barnes & Noble Book Drive below.
When: Nov. 1-Dec. 31, 2009
Where: Barnes & Noble -The Streets at Southpoint,
8030 Renaissance Parkway Suite 855
What: Books priced from $2 to $20 for young children.
Over the eight-week book drive, the Partnership's staff and volunteers will distribute books to more than 20 community agencies serving children in home visiting programs, social services, medical facilities, and a variety of family support and family literacy programs.
In addition to distributing books through Durham’s Partnership for Children’s early childhood system, our organization will work with other organizations, such as the Durham Literacy Center, Durham County Guardian Ad Litem Program and Durham County Social Services Department to distribute books to older children.
The Book Drive enables the Partnership to connect with the broader Durham community and build awareness for family literacy and the organization's mission to ensure children are ready for school and life.
We thank the Barnes & Noble customers who have generously purchased books for young children and those who plan to purchase books during the next seven weeks.
