Love the City of Durham? Then why don’t you marry it?!

On March 19th, five local nonprofit organizations will benefit from a family-friendly event promoting citizen engagement in Durham. Wedding vows will affirm a dedication and devotion to keeping streets clean and safe, protecting natural resources, shopping locally, supporting the arts and local nonprofit organizations, cherishing diversity, and electing responsible leaders.

Attendees will gather downtown for a wedding, parade, and a reception featuring live music, local food, and a cash bar. Wedding packages can be purchased on the website, with all proceeds benefiting the Eno River Association, Genesis Home, Latino Community Development Center, The Scrap Exchange, and Walltown Children’s Theatre. Wedding packages purchased by March 4th, 2011 will be entered to win a gift certificate for a class from Durham Spirits Co.!
