Tarheels, Blue Devils, Wolfpack? Support your team and your nonprofit during March Madness!
Compete in the Bracket Competition and support your favorite cause!
With one week to the tip-off of March Madness, basketball enthusiasts can now compete in the bracket competition to support their favorite nonprofits. GoodBrackets.com gives Tarheels, Blue Devils, and Wolfpack alike, the opportunity to support their favorite teams and local causes.
GoodBrackets, created in Chapel Hill, is a March Madness inspired fundraising competition. Players make a donation and play on behalf of a nonprofit of their choice. They complete an NCAA Men’s tournament bracket by March 17th, and compete to win prizes for themselves and the nonprofit they’ve chosen. Players have the option to donate directly to their nonprofit or pool their funds with other players to potentially win more for the nonprofit they’ve chosen. The minimum donation for pools is $10, although players may choose to donate more if they wish. GoodBrackets sends at least 85% of donations to nonprofits, while retaining 15% to ensure website maintenance and participation in future tournaments.
The site currently has more than 5,000 participating nonprofits, but any organization in good standing with the IRS is eligible for the GoodBrackets tournament. Information for registering your nonprofit is available on the website.
Some of the TGB nonprofits participating in this competition include:
First in Families of North Carolina
Food Bank of Center & Eastern North Carolina
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina
Special Olympics North Carolina
United Way of the Greater Triangle
Urban Ministries of Wake County
