Encouraging Educators: Time in the School Zone Event
Three local organizations are hosting an opportunity for local, education-focused nonprofits to connect with world-renowned Mr. Geoffrey Canada, CEO of the acclaimed Harlem Children’s Zone in Harlem, New York. He will be speaking to the urgency of saving our children from despair and how to rescue them with education.
The Harlem Children’s Zone and the work of Mr. Canada have become national models for education reform and have been highlighted by a number of media outlets. The Zone Project serves a 100 block area and hopes to target services to more than 10,000 children by 2011. Mr. Canada has also authored a number of publications, and will be available for autographs immediately following this event.
Hosted by Make A Joyful Noise Youth Ministry, DCL Management Group, LLC, and Local Hope of Hope Community Church, this presentation will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday, June 4th at the NCSU McKimmon Center in Raleigh.
