Matching Gift Challenge: American Dance Festival
What is the Matching Gift Challenge?
In celebration of Charles Reinhart's 43-year legacy and leadership of the American Dance Festival, several foundations, institutions, and donors have joined together to issue a challenge: raise $43,000 by the end of ADF's 2011 season on July 23 and receive a matching $43,000!
Currently ADF has raised $10,508 toward the $43,000 Matching Gift Challenge.
Please help meet this incredible challenge and a make a donation today. Your contribution will be matched, dollar for dollar, until they have met the challenge.
Your contribution will benefit the newly established Charles L. and Stephanie Reinhart Fund, which will support scholarships for aspiring dancers to attend the ADF School, commissions of new work that will go on to tour the world, and other special projects that reflect Charles and his late wife and former ADF Co-Director, Stephanie's vision and passion for modern dance.
How will the Matching Gift Challenge impact ADF?
Every year hundreds of aspiring dancers travel from across the country and around the world to Durham to study at the ADF School. This year, over 400 students are attending the ADF School from 34 states and 19 countries. For many of these students this would be impossible without scholarships. That is the reason ADF has remained committed to providing over 50% of their students with scholarship assistance.
In addition to scholarships, each year the ADF helps talented and emerging choreographers bring their visions to life by commissioning new works that premiere in Durham and very often go on to tour the country and the world. Since 1934, the ADF has commissioned over 350 new works, an astounding contribution to the history of modern dance.
By contributing to the $43,000 Matching Gift Challenge, you will double your investment in the future of modern dance, helping ensure a future where all aspiring dancers regardless of income have an opportunity to study, learn and pursue their dreams; a future where choreographers have the support they need to create new works we can enjoy for decades to come.
