Mud Run Carolinas to Benefit the NC Multiple Sclerosis Society

Date: September 24, 2011

Location: Camp Butner, Stem, NC - Just North of the Raleigh/Durham area.

Event Description:

The National MS Society and the Original Mud Run, LLC have partnered to create a unique fundraising event for the Eastern North Carolina Chapter on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Camp Butner in Stem, NC. Mud Run is a 10K (6.2 mile) adventure course featuring boot camp style obstacles that are surrounded by or consist entirely of mud. People cheer as teams of contestants slip, slide, and slosh their way to victory. It is a unique experience whether running or watching. It's a great opportunity for people of all skill levels to push themselves and join in the muddy fun, while helping to create a world free of MS.

Who participates in Mud Run MS?Mud Run MS is open to anyone age 12 and up. If you and your team are in it to win it, enter the Crazed Competitors Division, where you'll demonstrate your strength, speed, agility and grit as you race for the best time. To uphold the race's military tradition, runners in the Crazed Competitors Division must wear long pants and boots.

If you are simply interested in getting dirty, hurdling a personal challenge or having fun, and you don't really care if you win or lose, the Mere Mortals Division is for you. The course is the same, but with less stringent requirements (and costumes encouraged). Mere Mortal teams can have any number of participants. As a team-building experience, Mud Run has no match. It is an amazing experience that teams of co-workers, athletes, friends, or family members will not forget.

Fundraising RequirementsEach participant is required to raise a minimum of $100 for the National MS Society. This amount is due before the start of the Mud Run MS; participants will not receive their timing chip if the requirement has not been met.
