Eno River Association

The mission of the Eno River Association is to conserve and protect the nature, culture, and history of the Eno River basin. Our primary focus areas are:

Land Protection

Since 1966, ERA has been working to create and expand Eno River State Park. We ensure that properties critical to the park, and vital to the protection of the Upper and Lower stretches of the river, are safeguarded through outright purchase or use of conservation easements.

Stewardship

Sensitive natural areas owned by the Association are managed and stewarded to protect rare and important species, and to enhance their overall conservation value.

Environmental Education

Through our outreach programs, we introduce children to the river and the ecosystems it supports, inspiring them to become future conservationists and environmental stewards. We encourage people of all ages to "get out and get their feet wet", learn about the river, and advocate for its protection.

Your Support

In addition to becoming a donor and a volunteer, we invite everyone to attend our annual Festival for the Eno on July 4th weekend at West Point on the Eno in Durham. The festival helps us raise funds to protect more parkland and deliver our environmental message to the community.
