Support FIFNC in The Great Human Race!

The Volunteer Center of Durham's 16th Great Human Race is a unique community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations. The Triangle area race features a 5k competitive run and a 5k community walk through downtown Durham. The event provides an opportunity for any nonprofit agency, school or faith based group to raise money for their own programs and enables businesses and individuals to support the nonprofit of their choice. More than 100 groups participated in last year's event and raised nearly $240,000.00 total.

Support First In Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) in the Great Human Race by making a donation! You can donate online or stop by our office at 524 S. Duke Street, Durham, NC 27701 to pick up a pledge form to collect cash and checks from friends and family who sponsor you to run or walk in the Great Human Race. Please make checks payable to The Great Human Race and write FIFNC on the Memo Line. Mail or hand in your checks and pledge form to our office by March 19th. The Great Human Race is on Saturday, March 26, 2011 (Rain or Shine)
• The Race starts and finishes at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Blackwell St.
• Registration begins at 7:00am
• Opening ceremonies begin at 8:15 am
• The run starts at 8:30 am
• The walk starts immediately after all the runners have crossed the start line

If you would like to register to Run:
Go to www.active.com and search Great Human Race 2011 or paper registration forms are available at www.greathumanrace.org. All registered runners will receive a race t-shirt and runner goody bag. Please note that runner registration fees do not count toward the DCC.

If you would like to walk:
Walkers DO NOT PAY A FEE nor do they need to register. Just let FIFNC know that you are planning on participating as a walker/fundraiser. Walkers/fundraisers who raise at least $50 and turn their money in prior to March 19th, 2011 will receive a GHR t-shirt. Pick up your pledge sheet or create your online fundraising page and let the fundraising begin!
