Habitat breaks ground on a new home in Hope Crossing
February 20, 2009
On Thurs., Feb. 19, Habitat for Humanity of Durham began construction on a new home in Habitat’s Hope Crossing community in East Durham. The home will be built in partnership with homeowner Tinika Davenport and her family. Both The Redwoods Group Foundation and the Trapani Family Charitable Fund provided $25,000 grants to build this house.
“My husband, Kevin, and I strongly believe in the work that Habitat for Humanity does to help families find dignity and safe places to live, and that’s why we are supporting this project,” said Jennifer A. Trapani, an officer of both the Trapani Family Charitable Fund and The Redwoods Group Foundation.
The Trapani Family Charitable Fund is a donor-advised fund through the Triangle Community Foundation. Formally launched in 2008, The Redwoods Group Foundation, presided over by Kevin Trapani, focuses on providing grants to ensure safe, adequate access to shelter, nutrition, healthcare, education, economic opportunity, and a sustainable environment for all God’s children.
