Kidzu Children's Museum

Kidzu's mission is to inspire young children and the adults in their lives to learn through play. We offer playful, hands-on exhibits and programs that bring learning to life. We are committed to serving all children in our community, including those in need.

We are starting small and planning big! Kidzu has been in our current 2,700 square foot location on Franklin Street since March, 2006. Since opening, we have served more than 125,000 visitors. To meet the demand for our services, we are planning an expansion to a larger museum over the next several years. In November, 2009, the Town of Chapel Hill unanimously voted to provide Kidzu a site for our expansion museum just a block from our current location.

Our vision for the future is excel at serving, celebrating and reflecting our community and, through partnerships with the exceptional educational and cultural organizations in our community, become a leader in museum-based education for children and families.
