Literacy Council of Wake County

Since 1970, the Literacy Council of Wake County has devoted its resources to providing free and confidential one-on-one tutoring services to under-served Wake County adults, families, and at-risk youth to increase their proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English and to help them master life skills. With the help of more than 150 volunteers, the Literacy Council is working to eradicate illiteracy, which is the root cause of many other social problems such as poverty and homelessness.
