Welcome New Staff!

The Center would like to welcome two new staff members: Laurie Graham and Adrianna Harrell!

Laurie Graham: Crisis Response Coordinator

Laurie Michelle Graham was born in Charlotte, NC, but grew up mostly in Matthews, NC. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2009, earning a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology with a minor in Spanish language. She continued her education at UNC and earned a Master’s in Social Work. During this time, she interned with the Crisis Unit at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Human Services in foster care, and the Family Violence and Rape Crisis Services of Chatham County. Laurie began her work at the OCRCC as a Companion in 2008 and a volunteer in 2008 and 2009. Due to her education in Spanish and her time abroad in Argentina, Laurie has also provided Spanish services in the past, including work with support groups.

Adrianna Harrell: Youth Education Coordinator

A self-described military brat,Adrianna Harrell is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, but spent much of her childhood moving around. She graduated from North Carolina State University in 2011 with a dual degree in English and Women’s and Gender Studies. While at NCSU, Adrianna founded the university’s first peer education program and was dedicated to the prevention of interpersonal violence. This included coordinating campus-wide awareness months, serving as a teaching assistant for training classes, and creating and facilitating numerous workshops on campus and in the community. Adrianna was also the Program and Training Assistant for the Women’s Center and served on the university interpersonal violence prevention team. Her title as Youth Education Coordinator at the Center is perfect because she loves children and would like to have eight of her own!
