Senior PharmAssist
Mission statement:
Senior PharmAssist promotes healthier living for Durham seniors by helping them obtain and better manage needed medicines, and by providing health education, community referral and advocacy.
Our program helps Durham County seniors 60 and older remain as healthy and independent as possible - for as long as possible - by emphasizing prevention and focusing on:
- User-friendly access to needed medicines, including via Medicare Part D and our own financial assistance
- Safe, effective, and cost-effective use of necessary medications
- Case management and help understanding, managing, and maximizing drug and health insurance coverage
- Tailored referrals to other valuable community programs and resources
- Seniors being their own health advocates
