What a busy spring we had..over $5,000 in summer scholarships were given to local children.
We gave out a couple of sports camp scholarships to middle and high school teens, including UNC lacrosse and basketball camps. One student volunteered at the Ronald McDonald house and at the PTA Thrift shop and the other helped with administrative duties at her high school.
Multiple elementary and middle school aged children were awarded money to attend Hargraves day camps. They made and delivered cards to the elderly.
A two-time SKJAJA Fund recipient, attended a YMCA camp in the mountains and organized a Haiti toiletries drive.
One high schooler attended a summer program at the Arc of Orange County and volunteered at her school and the Red Cross.
Two brothers were able to attend a summer reading skills program. They helped with community clean-up and their neighbors with chores.
One middle schooler was able to attend two sessions at The ArtsCenter's camp and volunteered at her school's Buddy Reader program.
As always, we greatly appreciate everyone who has supported the SKJAJA Fund and are so happy with the things we've already been able to accomplish. Without your support of time and contributions we never would have been able to help so many children.
