Society of St. Andrew

Society of St. Andrew is a hunger relief ministry working to combat hunger and prevent food waste by gleaning surplus produce from farm fields and packing houses. Our volunteers go into fields after harvest and simply pick up the many tons of fresh produce left behind. The food is then distributed at no cost to people in need in North Carolina. Society of St. Andrew is the only organization in the state that saves and distributes fresh produce in this fashion.

The millions of pounds of fresh nutritious produce that go to waste every year in our state could easily feed all of our state’s hungry people many times over.
