People who expect to need holiday food or toys for their families may apply at The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club gymnasium from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and from 1 - 3:30 p.m. daily Monday Oct. 3 through Friday Oct. 7.

Applicants should bring: a photo ID, birth certificates and Social Security cards for all members of the household, documentation of all bills paid in the home and all income received in the home (e.g., lease, food stamps, utilities).

If you’d like to help provide holiday food or toys, you can:

• Ring at an actual or virtual Red Kettle, as an individual or an organization, to raise funds for additional holiday needs. Go to www.register2ring.org/durham to sign up or to set up a virtual (online) Red Kettle.

About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services including food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
