Prepare at-risk boys for college and life
October 3, 2011
At The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, SAVE Sports strengthen young men from adverse communities into victors who endure.
SAVE Sports also demands more than athletic skill. In order to ensure that these USSSA team members will build all-around life competencies, Coach Joshua Dorsette requires them to:
Maintain at least a 2.6 GPA to play.
Do 30 hours of community service each semester in order to play.
Students who fall behind in grades or service travel with the team, sit on the bench, and develop a powerful desire to regain their footing as quickly as possible.
In 2011, the team placed #16 in the national championships. In 2011-12, we would like the team to:
Have full uniforms, including warmups and duffles, like other teams they play.
Travel to at least ten in-state competitions, including the championship.
Travel to the national championship, assuming they will again prove their outstanding skill and eligibility.
To provide support for this team, contact Carlene Byron at 688-7306, ext. 107.
