Triangle Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the

What Matters 2011 Innovation Award:

Award guidelines and application form are available on the Foundation's website.
Applications are due by March 11, 2011.

WHAT IS WHAT MATTERS?
On May 4, Triangle Community Foundation will host our 2nd annual benefit dinner focusing on an issue that matters to the region. All proceeds support TCF's community programs that help strengthen local nonprofits and address regional issues.

WHAT IS THE 2011 WHAT MATTERS THEME?
The What Matters 2011 theme is: Bold Leadership
The Triangle has been the political, educational, and entrepreneurial epicenter of North Carolina. As a region that governs, teaches, and innovates, we have a history of acting courageously when it matters most. Today, bold leadership is again needed to move the region forward.
As we face new fiscal realities, economic development is tied more than ever to social development. Sports, arts, and education help drive both in our region. The Triangle’s champion sports teams bring international attention to our region. Statewide, the creative industry contributes more than five percent toward our economy. Increasingly we are called to align the goals of our schools with the jobs needed today and tomorrow. Bold leadership has driven change in each of these areas. It's been passionate, persistent, and principled - and it's what's needed now.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE WHAT MATTERS INNOVATION AWARD?

  • 501 c 3 nonprofit organizations
  • Religious congregations
  • Local government agencies

Organizations must be based-in and serving Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake counties. Statewide organizations that serve the Triangle are also eligible to apply.
