We started with a report — How the Triangle Gives Back: A Report to the Region authored by the Program on Public Life at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This body of research illuminates the role of giving in our communities by examining the makeup of our residents and our nonprofit organizations as well as the function of foundations and corporations as philanthropic players.
