Widely varied but less rooted.

Unlike other metropolitan areas, the Triangle’s economy is made up of a diverse mix of relatively young knowledge-based and niche industries. That paired with the high number of entrepreneurial companies in the Triangle makes our corporate giving structure weaker than our peer areas. Many Triangle businesses don’t yet have the assets to set up large philanthropic programs.

The Triangle’s corporate giving structure is less mature and robust than older, industrial-based economies.
